Support the Ministry of Saint Makarios

St. Makarios Mission is supported entirely through the generosity of its members, friends, and benefactors.

Donations can be made towards the "general fund" which supports the day-to-day work of the church. You can now also earmark funds towards a newly established building fund as we pray that God will provide the resources for a permanent building. In your giving, don't forget the alms fund which supports mutual aid and charitable efforts within and beyond the community. All donations are tax-deductible go towards continuing to provide an Orthodox presence on the South Side of Chicago.

If you are active in your support of St. Makarios, thank you! If you don't already support the mission, please consider making a regular offering (weekly or monthly) in support of our work.

The best way to give is by check (or cash) placed in the offering baskets by the candles. No transaction fees! You can also use the link below to access our online giving system Tithe.ly.

The Holy Scripture is a collection of books written over multiple centuries by those inspired by God to do so. It is the primary witness to the Orthodox Christian faith, within Holy Tradition and often described as its highest point. It was written by the prophets and apostles in human language, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and collected, edited, and canonized by the Church.

Holiness or sainthood is a gift (charisma) given by God to man, through the Holy Spirit. Man's effort to become a participant in the life of divine holiness is indispensable, but sanctification itself is the work of the Holy Trinity, especially through the sanctifying power of Jesus Christ, who was incarnate, suffered crucifixion, and rose from the dead, in order to lead us to the life of holiness, through the communion with the Holy Spirit.
